Private and Open Workshops
7 days a week by appointment
No painting experience required. We have all of the supplies, we paint with you step by step. At the end you’ll have a 16″ x 20″ painting on canvas to take home.
Closest car parks: Kingsmead Square – 3 min walk, Green Street car park – 5 min walk, or Southgate – 7 min walk
Bath Spa train station – 10 min walk
The studio will be set up with canvasses, easels, aprons, brushes, paints and water and we’ll greet you with a glass of lovely prosecco from Wolf Wine. The original painting will be on display. After a quick introduction, the instructor will paint along with you and demonstrate each step to ensure that you achieve a painting just like the original. When we’re finished and after you’ve signed your masterpiece, we give you a paper bag to take your painting home and we do the clean up!
We are BYOB after the first glass, and unable to sell you additional alcoholic beverages. Please feel free to bring your own.
Which painting in the gallery would you like to paint with your group?
Yes! You will surprise yourself. In my years of doing this, I’ve only had a couple of “fails;” one could barely walk through the door as she arrived after too much wine sampling at lunch, the other despised her co-hens and refused to look at her painting while she painted. That’s not you.
All of the paintings are designed to be achievable for absolute beginners. If at the end of the session the group feels that a painting is too difficult, or not any fun to paint, I will remove it from the gallery.

Sarah started Paint by Wine in January 2018. At the start, workshops were in the Guild Hub Co-working space, afterwards, The Drawing Rooms and as of June 2021, we have our own space on Green Park Mews!

Minimum age painter age is 18. Exception can be made for a 16 year old accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Yes. All of our paintings are carefully designed, tested and instructed for beginners to be able to achieve and walk out the door with something that they are proud of and remarkably like the original, all while having a fun, relaxed time. Instruction is by demonstration, where the instructor also creates a new copy of the original painting. Those with more experience are welcome to build upon or personalise their paintings. It is always delightful to see the stylistic differences and interpretations at the end of the session.
Absolutely! Our instructors create a fresh copy with each session, so we have several to choose from. £20 each if purchased and collected at the studio. Please get in touch to arrange: sarah@studiolx.co.uk
